What is anti-aging medicine, and how did it come about?

Anti-aging is a new medical subspecialty in which the aging process can be slowed, suspended and in some cases reversed. It came about as a shift in thinking from aging as an inevitable process to aging as a series of disease processes. Aging processes can be measured, and, as with any disease, there are symptoms and treatments.

How does anti-aging medicine differ from wellness and holistic medicine?

Anti-aging medicine is a comprehensive practice of preventive medicine that incorporates components of holistic and wellness medicine but goes beyond them with board-certified physicians utilizing specific high-tech testing procedures and medical treatments. Wellness and holistic medicine don't generally deal in conventional therapies.

Is this the Fountain of Youth?

This is an Enhanced Nutrition Program to extend the useful years of your life and improve the quality of those years.

Do you follow accepted medical procedures?

Anti-aging is a new subspecialty just like emergency medicine and family practice were 20 to 30 years ago. In addition we are able to offer extended services, which include Disease Management & Drug Utilization Reviews unique to each patient. The "Nutritional cost'' of taking medicines can be evaluated and in many instances can be reversed by enhancing the Nutritional profile.

Can you reverse the aging process? Can you make someone young again?

We can make patients feel and function young again. We can restore muscle loss, increase skin thickness, reduce total body fat and improve bone density. Patients'  have seen specific improvements in skin tightness and moisture, mental speed and clarity, enhanced sexual function, elevated mood and energy levels, improved aerobic capacity, greater immune function, and increased wound healing capacity.

Who are your patients? Is this just for seniors and retirees? Who would benefit from this the most? When is it too late?
It's almost never too late, however, the sooner you begin, the more benefits you derive from an improved quality of life. The people who benefit most are those who are motivated to stay healthy in their later years and those that are suffering from certain chronic conditions. It's not just for seniors or retirees. Just as you save for retirement with pensions and the like, this is preventive medicine.

How many years can you extend a patient's life?

It depends upon the patient's motivation, how early in life that you start treatment, and how compliant the patient is. A reasonable expectation for someone who begins a rigorous program in their mid 30s could be an extra 10 to 20 years or more.

How do you measure aging?

Medical tests called Biomarkers actually indicate signs of aging at different levels  down to DNA. At the functional level, we test such things as visual accommodation, auditory response, and memory succession. We do a skin biopsy at the cellular level. We test bio-chemicals such as hormones and cholesterol, and DNA is checked for damage to hereditary matter.

You say you conduct comprehensive tests before prescribing a treatment regimen. What do the tests involve?

Are you meeting opposition from traditional physician types?
Sometimes, but the situation resolves itself when they learn more about our practice. In fact, physicians make up a part of the patient base at Gene-Tech's Research Facility.

What role does the patient's primary care physician play?
We are a consultant to the primary care provider. We're here to augment their practice.

How quickly will a patient see results?
Improvement in energy is almost immediate. Individual response rates vary according to their genetic constitution and underlying medical conditions. Significant differences usually take four to six months for DNA to regenerate in the body.

Is this a lifetime program? How often do you expect to see a patient?
It's something you do for yourself the rest of your life. It's similar to visiting the dentist in that we generally see a patient two to six times a year. However, the patient has access to our ability to screen any medical developments and referral is considered if the condition is beyond the scope of our treatment.

What is involved in natural hormone replacement therapy?
Hormones are chemical messengers that control bodily functions. Aging depletes the body's hormonal levels. We are able to restore hormone and other biomarker levels to where they were in the patient's early 30s. In most cases, this can be done naturally with secretagogues, which release the hormones already made by the body.

What is an average treatment regimen?
Specific treatment regimens are customized based on a person's specific goals. We start with counseling, diet, exercise, and nutritional supplements. More comprehensive testing and additional supplements may also be prescribed.

How do we know its safe medicine?

Anti-aging is a recognized medical subspecialty. What we are doing is measurable and documentable. We are continually monitoring our patients' progress. Gene-Pro 500 therapy is natural, clinically tested and safe.
